Alumni Council Meeting
February 4, 2003
7 p.m.
Minutes transcribed by Stephanie Segal Hartman
In attendance: Jeffrey Paul Bobrick, Lew Firsch, Stephanie Segal Hartman, Eric Weiss, Charlie Ledley, Bob Solomon, Juliet Ross, Jackie Keveson, Noah Landow
Jeffrey:
Thank you all for coming. This meeting will mainly be about the fundraising mailing and the concert. For those of you on the phone, we are presently completing the collation of the fundraising mailing as we meet.
First, the legal report.
Eric: All is fine in the legal department.
Stephanie: Fundraising. On Sunday, several of us convened at Noah’s office to collate the fundraising mailing. All went well.
Juliet: Did any CITs show up?
Stephanie: No, we had Marc Ritcher, Roger Bailey, Noah, Jasmine Stobbe, Bob and myself. It is a very tedious process to stuff, seal and stamp the return address and place a stamp on each envelope.
Also, we had to organize the mailing by zip code, which the computer did when we did the labels.
I did some more collating today and whatever we finish tonight, Bob will take with him to the post office to mail.
The mailing will go out to approximately 1500 people and hopefully we will make some money, since our expenses were higher then the lst mailing.
Bob: Yes, our expenses ran about $800. I went to a class to learn about the mailing and bought stamps for $.10 and then we are charged the difference in postage approx. $.06 a letter once we do the mailing.
Jeffrey: Thank you to everyone involved in the mailing. I am sure it will do well.
Let’s move to the concert.
Charlie: Ivan is on board to plan the performance once again. He is planning a much different program then last year, but it will be just as spectacular. There will probably be some repeat performers, but many new faces and some assembles.
The date is April 13th, from 3-5 p.m. and it will be at Triad again. The people there are good to work with and the facility lends it self to a nice performance.
We will be sending out invitations via Evite and since we have been unable to find a volunteer to coordinate the non-performance end of the concert, Stephanie and I will be doing that this year.
Everyone start talking it up. We will need to get it on our calendar as well as on the camp message board.
Mickey was gracious enough to allow us to put in a blurb in the camp newsletter and hopefully that will generate a lot of interest.
Jeffrey: Great. Thank you Charlie and Stephanie. Lew, how are things going with the Bones reunion?
Lew: Everything is fine. The specifics are being worked out between Mickey, Michael and myself and the responses have been slow, but they continue to trickle in.
Jeffrey: Juliet do you want to talk about membership?
Juliet: I am working on several projects. Identifying alumni using alumni finder and getting volunteers involved to work on that, I am working on finding people to help with grant research and grant writing. Additionally, please let me know what you will need in terms of volunteers for the concert. Will the volunteers need to buy a ticket?
Stephanie: Ivan has worked it out so we do not have to pay for volunteers or performers; which is great. We will probably need 8 volunteers in to shifts. See who is interested and then we can go form there.
Juliet: Okay.
Jeffrey: Thank you everyone for attending. Our next meeting is March 10th.
